At 5 pm on February 19 (ie, the 3rd day of the Binh Ngo Tet), Lao Dong Newspaper reporters recorded the actual traffic situation on Ring Road 3 in the direction of the Phap Van - Cau Gie expressway.
Contrary to the daily image of a "hot spot" of traffic at the gateway to Hanoi Capital when it often falls into congestion, especially during peak hours, when Ring Road 3 is clear, traffic flow moves evenly in both directions.
At sections passing through the Phap Van - Cau Gie intersection, Thang Long Avenue, Mai Dich... vehicles maintained stable speeds, traffic density decreased significantly compared to the 2nd day of Tet - the time when Lao Dong Newspaper recorded prolonged congestion for kilometers, many cars had to stand still for hours amidst the flow of people from Hanoi going to and from provinces and vice versa.

Mr. Nguyen Van H., a service driver from Ninh Binh, said: "Yesterday it took me more than 1 hour to finish the section from the city center to the southern gateway to go to the Phap Van - Cau Gie expressway. Today, on the 3rd day of Tet, returning to Hanoi, I was quite surprised when I arrived at Ring Road 3 because the road was completely empty, running in one vein without having to brake - move continuously like before.
Meanwhile, Ms. Le Thi T, driving a private car from Hung Yen to Hanoi for spring travel, shared: "I was also prepared for traffic jams like yesterday, but it was very convenient to travel. Perhaps many people have traveled for spring and wished Tet from today, so today the number of vehicles has decreased.

Ring Road 3 has long been considered a traffic jam hotspot in Hanoi, when the traffic density is always high, especially during holidays and Tet.
It is predicted that by the end of the week, when the Tet holiday ends, the number of vehicles from provinces pouring into the Capital will increase sharply, and traffic pressure at gateways is expected to be very high.
