Early afternoon of December 9, Binh Duong Electricity Company said it had fixed the power outage after a man died under a transformer station in Di An city.
Regarding the cause of the man's death, it was initially determined that the man climbed up the transformer station of S.C.C VN Company Limited and stole the transformer station cable. The man was then electrocuted by a high voltage electric current, causing an accident that killed him. It is known that this cable is the property of S.C.C VN Company Limited.
Before that, around 8:00 p.m. on December 8, some areas in Di An city suddenly lost power.
Immediately afterwards, electricity workers went to check the area of Road 8, Song Than 1 Industrial Park, and discovered a man lying dead under the transformer station, with a head injury.
At the scene, authorities discovered a pair of pliers still stuck to the electric wire.
The deceased victim was identified as N.B.P (born in 1981, from Can Tho city).
Binh Duong Electricity Company said that the unit and Di An Electricity Company are currently coordinating with departments under Di An city to promote electrical safety and protect the safety corridor of the high-voltage power grid.
