Yen Bai - The man who wrote an application to give up his resettlement house in At Thuong village has just been commended by the government.

On December 26, Luc Yen District Party Secretary Dinh Khac Yen and local authorities visited and commended Mr. Hoang Son Hai (At Thuong village, Minh Xuan commune), who submitted a petition to the local authorities, asking not to receive a resettlement house, with the reason being to give it to someone else with more difficult circumstances.

In the recent storm No. 3, Mr. Hai lost 3 relatives at the same time: his mother, wife, son and his house was completely buried.

Soon after, his family received support from kind-hearted people in the area and across the country, proactively building a new house that is nearing completion.

Along with that, the local government quickly arranged land funds and built resettlement houses for affected households. However, Mr. Hai voluntarily wrote a petition not to accept resettlement houses to give them to people in more difficult circumstances.
