At Mien Tay Bus Station (An Lac ward), vehicles continuously dock, taking passengers from provinces back to Ho Chi Minh City. After getting off the bus, some passengers booked technology cars to go home, while many people waited for relatives to pick them up.
Mr. Duong Van Hai (from Dong Thap) said that although he will not return to work until September 3rd, he decided to go to Ho Chi Minh City early to avoid crowded traffic and traffic jams on the last day of the holiday.
Returning one day early helps me have more time to rest, rearrange work and prepare before going to work. If I wait until the last day to go, the road may be more crowded," Mr. Hai shared.
Besides the group of people returning to prepare for work, some passengers said they took advantage of going to Ho Chi Minh City early to have fun in the last days of the holiday.
Ms. Nguyen Yen Hoa (from Can Tho) said that she returned earlier than expected to visit and have fun in the city on September 2, before returning to work.
In my hometown, there are also many activities during the holidays, but I want to go to Ho Chi Minh City early to both rest, go out and watch fireworks. Tomorrow, I also plan to spend time visiting some places in the city," Ms. Hoa shared.
According to forecasts, from this evening September 1 and on September 2, the number of vehicles returning to Ho Chi Minh City may continue to increase, especially on gateway routes and areas around bus stations.
The Traffic Police Department of Ho Chi Minh City Police recommends that people returning from provinces to the city after the holidays should calculate reasonable travel time, proactively return early to avoid the situation of vehicle congestion in the evening of the last day of the holiday.
People who plan to travel during holidays should also regularly monitor traffic information, choose the appropriate time and route to avoid peak hours.
For personal vehicles, people need to proactively check the technical safety conditions of the vehicle, strictly comply with regulations on speed, safe distance, and do not stop or park in violation of regulations. In particular, do not use alcohol, beer, or stimulants when driving.
