The first person to receive the Dedication Award for Da Nang

On the morning of March 18, the leaders of Da Nang City presented awards to those who have contributed to helping thousands of children receive congenital heart intervention.

The "Dedication to Da Nang" Award is presented to individuals with outstanding achievements and special contributions to the cause of building and developing Da Nang City. The award will be held for the first time since 2024.

And on March 18, Mr. Erich Johann Lejeune (German citizen), founder of the organization "Heart for Heart" was the first person to be awarded this award by Da Nang City.

The organization "Heart for the Heart" founded by Mr. Erich Johann Lejeune and Ms. Irene Lejeune has supported the Da Nang health sector in implementing a congenital heart intervention program with more than 3,000 children who have been treated up to now.

Since 2006, this organization has provided Da Nang Hospital with many modern equipment worth millions of USD, and at the same time supported the training of human resources specializing in cardiovascular intervention, serving the work of examining and screening for cardiovascular diseases for people in Da Nang and the Central and Central Highlands regions.

In particular, in 2024, Mr. Erich Johann Lejeune and Ms. Irene Lejeune, both of the organizers of "Heart for Heart", decided not to return the aid to Da Nang Hospital 1 Digital Assessment Association Association Association (DSA) scanning system and auxiliary equipment with a total value of more than 27 billion VND. This is the third DSA system that Mr. and Mrs. Lejeune have jointly organized to provide aid to the hospital.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Le Quang Nam - Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City - sent his congratulations and expressed his gratitude for the contributions of Mr. and Mrs. Lejeune in organizing "Heart for Heart". For nearly 20 years, they have not only been benefactors sponsoring advanced medical equipment, but also been dedicated companions, always having special affection for cardiovascular patients in Da Nang in particular and Vietnam in general.

The persistent support of the grandparents has helped thousands of patients have the opportunity to be diagnosed and treated promptly, bringing a healthy life to many families. In particular, the sponsorship of a modern DSA system has opened up optimal treatment opportunities, helping the hospital deploy many specialized techniques, significantly improving the quality of cardiovascular treatment in the area.

Also at the ceremony, Da Nang Hospital held an inauguration ceremony for the DSA system and paid tribute to the organization of "Heart for Heart" and Mr. and Mrs. Lejeune.

Receiving awards from the city's leaders and gratitude from doctors and patients in Da Nang City, Mr. Erich Johann Lejeune expressed his gratitude to the city's leaders and the hospital, and said that he would continue to support the local health sector with many more projects in the coming time.
