On the afternoon of July 7, at the Binh Hung Hoa Fire Center, relatives of the 8 victims who died in the fire at Doc Lap residence (Phu Tho Hoa ward) were present to complete the procedures to receive the bodies.
According to the records, the 4 victims, including P.N.D.D. (born in 1985), D.T.N.A. (born in 1987), P.K.S. (born in 2014), P.N.A. (born in 2018) was brought in early by relatives to complete the procedures.
Meanwhile, relatives of the victims N.T.H.H. (born in 1952), H.H.H. (born in 1950), H.T.H.P. (born in 1984) and L.T.H.Q. (born in 1977) from Vung Tau ward to Binh Hung Hoa crematorium to complete the procedures for receipt.
Mrs. Tu Anh, the cousin of victim H.H.H. (born in 1950) said that the fire killed her younger brother's family of 4, including: Mr. H. and Mrs. N.T.H.H. (Mr. H.'s wife), Ms. H.T.H.P. (daughter of Mr. H.) and Mrs. L.T.H.Q. (Ms. H.'s stepchild).
"My younger brother's family lives a very gentle life, and both of them are good at being proficient. When I heard the news of her younger brother's death, I was stunned and unable to speak," Ms. Anh choked up.
Ms. Tu Anh said that the relatives from Vung Tau ward who are traveling are relatives of Mr. H. According to the police, the family can complete the procedures to receive 3 bodies, Mr. H. and his daughter H.T.H.P.
Ms. L.T.H.Q. is Mrs. H.'s illegitimate child, and currently has no documents proving that he is a relative to receive the body, and the family is worried.
At nearly 2:00 p.m., a woman named Thao (about 40 years old, Mr. H.'s niece) brought documents from Vung Tau ward to the crematorium to work with the authorities. Here, the officials asked Ms. Thao to write a commitment to receive the body of Ms. L.T.H.Q. to take home to prepare for the funeral.
On the same morning, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Van Duoc directly visited the scene, directed rescue work, overcame the consequences and visited the victims' families. He expressed his deep regret and sent his most sincere condolences, and affirmed that this was an irreparable loss, a great pain not only for his family but also for the community and the city government.
