On the afternoon of March 21, the Department of Education and Training of Binh Duong province informed about the incident in which 23 students and 5 teachers of Marie Curie Primary, Secondary and High School (Hiep An ward, Thu Dau Mot city) had to be hospitalized for examination.
According to the Department of Health of Binh Duong province, at around 12:30 on March 20, some students of the school had symptoms of fatigue and a slight headache and went to the school's Health Department for examination.
After initial first aid, the school informed parents to take the students to the emergency room.
At the hospital, some students, teachers, and staff felt tired and nauseous but did not vomit at the hospital.

Therefore, at around 4:30 p.m. the same day, 20 students and teachers were discharged home after being monitored at the hospital. The 4 students were advised by doctors to stay and be monitored further. On March 21, the students were discharged from the hospital and returned home, with normal health.
Upon receiving the information, the health sector immediately established an investigation team to verify.
According to the conclusion of the Interdisciplinary Inspection Team, the above incident was not related to food poisoning.
The cause may be related to hot weather and closed schoolyards, students being very active, leading to dehydration and fatigue. In addition, it is due to the motivation and psychology of some students.
A leader of the Binh Duong Department of Health commented that through the verification and assessment of the symptoms and manifestations of 28 teachers and students, there is not enough basis to determine the cause of this incident as food poisoning.
To better clarify the investigation results, the delegation conducted an investigation into food safety conditions in the school's collective kitchen. The facility provides full legal documents, conditions for food processing areas and full equipment and tools for food processing.
