On February 20, the People's Committee of Khanh Hoa province submitted a Resolution to the Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Council on the Nha Trang City Urban Development Program to 2040.
The Nha Trang City Urban Development Program until 2040 will conduct a comprehensive review of criteria on socio-economics and urban infrastructure, thereby developing plans and roadmaps to overcome the missing and unsatisfactory criteria, propose solutions to mobilize resources to invest in building and developing the infrastructure system, promoting the city's driving role.
In the short term until 2025, Nha Trang city strives to overcome some standards that have not met the minimum score according to the criteria of a type I urban area; Suburban communes strive to complete the standards on the level of urban infrastructure development applicable to the area where the ward is expected to be established.
In the period of 2026 - 2030, Nha Trang city strives to complete 100% of the criteria and standards of a type I urban area; by 2040, continue to improve the criteria and standards of a type I urban area - a city under the Central Government; continue to promote the brand of an island resort city to the national and international level, support the development of maritime logistics services, trade - tourism services...
Orientation to arrange and establish commune and ward administrative units under Nha Trang city by 2030, the locality will base on Resolution No. 35 of 2023 of the National Assembly on the arrangement of district and commune-level administrative units for the period 2023 - 2030...
During this period, Nha Trang city will coordinate with the Department of Home Affairs to consider adjusting and merging wards that do not currently meet the standards of administrative units in terms of area, and establishing new wards based on the area and population of Vinh Luong, Vinh Phuong, Vinh Ngoc, Vinh Trung, Vinh Thai, Phuoc Dong, Vinh Hiep, and Vinh Thanh communes.
The total estimated capital funding demand for the 2025-2030 period is about more than VND193,000 billion, including priority projects for infrastructure investment, works serving social security, etc.
At the end of 2024, Khanh Hoa province has completed the merger of 12 commune-level administrative units in Nha Trang city.
Specifically, Nha Trang city merged the natural area and population of Phuong Son and Phuong Sai wards into Phuong Sai ward; merged 3 wards of Xuong Huan, Van Thanh, Van Thang into Van Thanh ward and merged 3 wards of Phuoc Tien, Phuoc Tan, Tan Lap into Tan Tien ward.
Regarding this merger, Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee has developed a plan to reorganize the apparatus, cadres, civil servants, public employees, and workers; a roadmap to arrange redundant cadres, public employees, and non-professional workers, ensuring that in 2024 and 2025, it will be completed in accordance with regulations.
