On March 7, a representative of H.L bus company spoke with Lao Dong Newspaper, saying that the incident was an unexpected incident between the parties. After the fight, the tourists and the bus company's staff agreed to resolve the issue, and the passengers continued their journey to Da Nang City. However, the related employees have been suspended from work so that the bus company can come up with a suitable handling plan.
Regarding the incident, Mr. Nguyen Truong Sinh - in charge of the Quang Binh Bus Station Service and Management Center said that the center has worked with bus companies to rectify the service range, and at the same time thoroughly grasp other bus companies in the area to raise awareness of how to behave with passengers, especially foreign tourists.
"Not only H.L bus company, we have asked all bus companies in charge to disseminate staff on how to receive guests. This not only protects the reputation of the bus company but also contributes to preserving the image of tourism and services of Quang Binh" - Mr. Sinh said.
A leader of the Quang Binh Department of Construction said that this agency has grasped the information and is requesting a specific report to have a suitable handling direction.
Previously, on March 6, social networks spread a clip recording the scene of H.L bus company employee fighting with a foreign tourist on the sidewalk of National Highway 1, through Dong Ha City, Quang Tri Province. In the clip, the two struggled to fall onto the sidewalk, another tourist tried to stop and dragged the bus company to another place.
Although the clip only recorded a part of the incident, the initial cause was unknown, the image of the bus company's staff fighting with tourists caused mixed reactions in public opinion.
A representative of H.L's bus company said that according to the driver's initial report, the incident occurred when the tourist asked to stop the bus to go to the toilet, while the driver asked the tourist to wait at the rest stop. However, the tourists did not agree and refused to get in the car, leading to a fight.
The bus company affirmed that employees are not allowed to commit acts of violence against customers, especially foreign tourists, but need to consider the entire context to have appropriate handling.
