Mr. Minh Dang, an official retiring under Decree 178 in Phu Tho, said that his current pension is more than 5 million VND per month.
According to Mr. Dang, this amount is not too high but enough for him to be proactive in spending in daily life.
I spend as much as I have. The important thing is health and spirit," Mr. Dang shared.
At nearly 60 years old, he does not want his retirement period to be only associated with rest. Previously, he had time to learn about and work in traditional medicine.
After quitting his job, he plans to learn about the necessary procedures and permits to open a traditional medicine clinic at home. He hopes that the job will both help maintain expertise and create more joy in life.
Ms. Bui Thi Viet, 54 years old, also chose to actively find a job after retirement. Currently, she receives a pension of more than 6 million VND per month.
After leaving work, she opened a grocery store at home. The job is not too heavy but helps her earn extra income and maintain her daily life.
My pension is not high, but I have more time for myself. Life is leisurely, no longer working pressure," Ms. Viet said.
For people who retire early, finding a suitable job is seen as a way to take advantage of time, maintain dynamism and increase income.
After implementing the merger of 3 provinces Phu Tho, Vinh Phuc and Hoa Binh (old) to establish a new Phu Tho province, the province has about 3,199 officials, civil servants, and public employees resigning according to Decree No. 178/2024/ND-CP and Decree No. 67/2025/ND-CP.
