In recent days, in An Minh commune (An Giang), heavy rain accompanied by strong whirlwinds has blown off the roofs of many houses, damaged crops, and affected people's lives and activities.
On August 16 alone, it was initially estimated that thunderstorms and tornadoes blew off the roofs of 13 houses, of which 3 were completely collapsed, and 10 houses had their roofs blown off in Nga Bat hamlet. Immediately after the incident, An Minh Commune Police quickly sent officers and soldiers to coordinate with local authorities, militia and self-defense forces and groups to the scene.
The forces have supported people to clear fallen trees, cover, reinforce their houses, move their assets to safety, contributing to reducing difficulties and stabilizing their lives soon.
In addition, the Commune Police also increased propaganda and reminded people to raise awareness of prevention, proactively respond to thunderstorms, whirlwinds and extreme weather phenomena, in order to minimize damage to people and property.
