On February 4, information from the Department of Natural Resources and Environment of Thanh Hoa province said that through inspection work, it was found that mineral activities in some districts still have violations related to mineral activities, mainly violations of exploitation outside the licensed boundaries; exploitation exceeding capacity, exceeding licensed reserves; causing loss of mineral resources...
Faced with the above situation, the Department of Natural Resources and Environment of Thanh Hoa province requires units licensed to operate minerals in the area to immediately review the mine boundary markers according to the granted mineral exploitation license, install all boundary markers in the correct location and specifications, and in case of detecting mining beyond the boundary markers or beyond the granted depth, mining must be stopped immediately...
Units and enterprises are required to send reports to the Department of Natural Resources and Environment of Thanh Hoa province before February 20, 2025 for review and handling by functional units.
Previously, as reported by Lao Dong Newspaper, in October 2024, the Inspectorate of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment of Thanh Hoa province issued decisions on administrative sanctions against the following units: Thanh Phong Prison (located in Nong Cong town, Nong Cong district); Tan Thanh 9 One Member Co., Ltd. (located at Lot LK9-E45, Dong Son New Urban Area, An Hung ward, Thanh Hoa city) and Long Thanh private enterprise (located in Nam Hung street, An Hung ward, Thanh Hoa city).
The reason for the punishment was that Thanh Phong Prison had records proving that it had set up markers at the corners of the area permitted for mineral exploitation, but had lost the markers at the limestone mine used as common construction materials in Vuc Mountain (Dong Hung Commune, now An Hung Ward, Thanh Hoa City).
Tan Thanh 9 One Member Co., Ltd. has documents proving that it has set up markers at the corners of the area permitted for mineral exploitation, but lost the markers at the limestone mine for common construction materials and the collection of stone blocks for the production of paving stones at Vuc Mountain, Dong Vinh Commune, Thanh Hoa City and Dong Quang Commune, Dong Son District.
Long Thanh Private Enterprise has documents proving that it has set up markers at the corners of the area permitted for mineral exploitation, but lost the markers at the limestone mine for common construction materials and for collecting blocks of stone to produce paving stones at Vuc mountain in Dong Hung commune (now An Hung ward, Thanh Hoa city) and Dong Quang commune, Dong Son district.
The decisions also stated that the above units were administratively fined 7 million VND.
