Located next to vast fields of sweet potatoes and sugarcane, the Suoi Can resettlement area in Thang Loi 3 village, Ia Sol commune, Phu Thien district, has flags flying and spacious houses preparing to welcome the Lunar New Year of At Ty 2025.
Ms. Kpa H’Lui (29 years old), a resident of Suoi Can resettlement area happily said: “This year, the whole family can celebrate Tet warmly in a new, spacious and clean house. With a stable place to live, people will feel secure to do business, develop production and increase income.”

The resettlement area was built from the support capital of the Prime Minister, counterpart capital of the District People's Committee and the joint efforts of benefactors.
The resettlement area was established with the hope that 38 households will stay away from the landslide-prone area every rainy and stormy season. In addition, people will also be able to settle down in a new place and improve their lives.
Many years ago, 38 households with 145 people, 100% Jrai people, lived in makeshift shelters, without electricity or clean water in the Suoi Can area.
People go to the fields to earn a living and produce by crossing dangerous streams. Children also face dangers when going to school. Some children have dropped out of school because the school is far away and also to help their parents grow cassava and rice in the fields.
Now, in the new resettlement area, each household is assigned 600 square meters of residential land by the state and supported with 60 million VND/house and 13 million VND/toilet.
At night, civilized electricity lights up the entire resettlement village, and clean water is brought to every home. Near Tet, the laughter of children is clear along the concrete road, and adults add firewood to the pot of meat and green banh chung to celebrate Tet.
In addition to the state budget, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Phu Thien district has called on businesses, organizations and individuals to support more than 1.2 billion VND in funding and materials, contributing to the construction of adequate housing and toilets for households.
