Group of students bathing in a canal, one child drowned and died

    Quang Tri - A group of 5 students were bathing in an aquaculture canal when one drowned and died.

    On the afternoon of May 21, the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department - Quang Tri Provincial Police said that the unit had found the body of a drowning student in the K9 canal area, near the K7 regulating culvert, in Quang Tri town.

    Previously, at around 8:30 a.m. the same day, a group of 5 students went to the above area to have fun and swim.

    While swimming, L.Q.H (born in 2010, residing in Tra Loc village, Hai Xuan commune, Hai Lang district) was unfortunately swept away by the water. The friends who were with her tried to help but failed.

    After receiving the news, the rescue force coordinated with the Police of Ward 1 (Quang Tri town) and local people to urgently organize the search. Sinking measures to find and review suspected areas were immediately deployed.

    At around 2:00 p.m. the same day, H's body was found about 2.5 km from the accident site. After completing the procedures, the victim's body was handed over to his family for funeral arrangements according to local customs.
