On the afternoon of August 10, speaking with a reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper, the leader of Hai Tien Commune, Ninh Binh Province confirmed that a drowning incident had just occurred in the area where the church collapsed.
Initial information, around noon today (8.10), a group of guests came to the floating church beach area (Hai Tien commune) to play swimming and unfortunately some were swept away from the shore, some drowned.
"As soon as the incident occurred, people around the area quickly provided support, found ways to handle and promptly rescued 5 people from the danger zone. All 5 people above could have been in a group, and as soon as their health was stable, they left. We are also reviewing the information about the above group of visitors and those who supported the rescue to reward and encourage people," said the leader of Hai Tien commune.
According to the leader of Hai Tien commune, the area where the church's sea is dumped is a spontaneous beach that has not been planned. On holidays or weekends, people and visitors from all over often come here to cool off, local authorities have to send security forces to support on duty in the above area.
