According to Lao Dong, in the central area of Ho Chi Minh City, there were many people flocking to the Golden gate, the Youth Cultural House, the Festival of Literature... to take photos, visit, and immerse themselves in the atmosphere of celebrating the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2.
All streets in Ho Chi Minh City are covered in red, people carry red flags with yellow stars, banners, and slogans to celebrate the great national holiday.
"Although I did not directly experience the war years, when I watched historical footage and images of parades and parades, I felt very moved and proud. Every image of a soldier, every step is a reminder to our generation about the sacrifice of our ancestors to have today", said Mr. Nguyen Trung Son (residing in Saigon Ward), a young man born and raised in peacetime, who had deep feelings about the meaning of National Day on September 2.
According to Mr. Son, the spirit of independence and freedom is not only expressed through heroic struggles, but is also present in daily life. That is the solidarity and sharing of the people, the efforts of each individual to contribute to the common development of the country.
"We will continue to study, work and contribute to be worthy of the sacrifices of previous generations, so that the country can develop and become richer," Mr. Son expressed.
Joining the atmosphere of the National Independence Day, all the alleys in Ho Chi Minh City, many families gathered together to watch the parade, the parade on television.
Ms. Lai Thi Hoa, a veteran, could not hide her emotions: "I feel very happy and grateful to live in peace and independence. This is probably the first time in my life that I have seen a grand, heroic, and truly satisfying National Day celebration on September 2".
Mr. Pham Xuan Hai, another veteran, proudly said: "Seeing the country in peace, I am extremely grateful". Watching the parade through the small screen, he felt the magnificence and modernity of the Vietnamese army. Every time like that, he felt happy and sometimes moved to tears. He was proud to see that Vietnam has produced many types of modern weapons and equipment, affirming the country's position.
Mr. Le Minh Dung (residing in Binh Thanh Ward), a 25-year-old youth expressed his feelings: "Although I have not gone through the difficult years like my grandparents and parents, when watching the parade, I feel the sacrifice and courage of the previous generations. Every image of a soldier, every step is a reminder to us of our responsibility to maintain peace and develop the country".
Mr. Phan Minh Cuong (32 years old, from Ca Mau) is currently a worker at Seorim Company Limited (Long Binh Industrial Park, Dong Nai province). After watching the parade, Mr. Phan Minh Cuong shared: "I pay attention when watching the program, not missing a single formation and feel very proud that Vietnam is increasingly strengthened in each strong step of the officers and soldiers of the Army and Police forces".
Meanwhile, Ms. Truong Thi Ngoc Huyen (Mr. Cuong's wife) is also very proud of the increasingly beautiful image of the country, witnessing the country's modern equipment on land, in the air, at sea... making her feel more secure in working and producing in the peace-loving Vietnam.
The event celebrating the 80th anniversary of National Day on September 2 is not just a simple celebration, but also a profound lesson in patriotism, solidarity and gratitude. From the sincere emotions of veterans and people of Ho Chi Minh City, it can be seen that national pride and the spirit of solidarity are always present and strong in the hearts of each person.
