Early morning of September 2, Mr. Nguyen Trong Hoa's house in Dong Son ward (Quang Tri) was strangely bustling. From dawn, the family displayed tables and chairs, prepared tea and water to invite friends and neighbors to sit down, watched the parade live on television, the parade to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2.
In the joy the whole country turned to the capital, Mr. Hoa's family was even more moved, because in the female parade soldiers this year, there is their daughter, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Hang (born in 1999), who is performing military service in Nha Trang city.
Knowing that their children were honored to be present at the Festival, the whole family considered it a great pride, as an unforgettable mark in their lives.
Mr. Nguyen Trong Hoa emotionally shared that since he learned that his daughter had been chosen to join the female parade soldiers, the whole family burst into joy.
It is not only the happiness of the family but also a great honor, because children have contributed a small part to an important historical event of the nation.
"This morning, when I watched every step of my child and teammates on screen, I was both nervous and extremely proud. That moment will definitely become a sacred memory, an unforgettable memory in my life as a parent," said Mr. Hoa.
In front of the screen, the mother diligently searches for her child's face in the row of men; next to him, the father's eyes are filled with radiance and emotion.
Not only the family but also the neighbors shared the same pride, because a daughter of Quang Tri had walked in the solemn formation of the Fatherland.
The small joy of a roof, a small hamlet, has blended into the great pride of the nation. On the day of the National Day, millions of hearts of Vietnamese people beat together. The beat of freedom, peace and aspiration to rise.
