According to Ms. Hoang Thi Thu Thuy, Vice Chairman of Cua Viet Town People's Committee, there are currently 10 households raising fish in cages on Hieu River with a total of 30 cages, raising about 32,000 fish of all kinds such as catfish, perch, and perch. In recent days, due to rainwater pouring in from upstream, the salinity has suddenly decreased, causing fish to be shocked and die en masse. Initial damage is estimated at about 1.8 billion VND.
About 13 hectares of shrimp farming in the area were also flooded, causing a loss of about 1.2 billion VND.
Faced with the situation of dead fish in cages, people have saved some money to sell at cheap prices.
