On June 18, the Ho Chi Minh City Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board (Ho Chi Minh City Transport Board) said that the total construction volume of the An Phu intersection project currently reaches about 78%.
According to the new plan, the items of the project will be successively completed and put into operation in the near future.
Bridge branch N4 - serving traffic direction from Giong Ong To bridge turning right into Mai Chi Tho avenue, is expected to be completed and opened to traffic at the end of July 2026.

Two bridge branches N1.1 and N1.3 - allowing vehicles from Mai Chi Tho Avenue to turn left to the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay expressway access road, will be opened to traffic at the end of September 2026.
For the N1.2 bridge branch - heading from Luong Dinh Cua street straight to the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay expressway access road, along with the Luong Dinh Cua road expansion item from Mai Chi Tho to Nguyen Hoang, it is expected to be completed by the end of April 2027.
However, this progress depends on completing the site clearance of about 22,012m2 belonging to An Phu Development Urban Area before the end of October 2026.
In addition, the central tower and green landscape system of the project are expected to be completed by the end of December 2026.
According to the Ho Chi Minh City Transport Board, if site clearance is carried out according to plan, the entire An Phu intersection project will be completed on April 30, 2027.
Thus, this is the next time the An Phu intersection project has had to postpone its progress. At the beginning of 2026, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee approved the adjustment of the project implementation time from the 2021-2025 period to the 2021-Q2/2026 period.

The An Phu intersection project was started at the end of 2022, with a total investment of more than 3,400 billion VND. The project is built according to a three-story intersection model, including a system of underpasses, overpasses and central roundabouts to solve traffic congestion at the eastern gateway of Ho Chi Minh City.
In the past time, a number of important items have been put into operation, contributing to improving traffic capacity in the area.
Including underpass HC1-01 at the Mai Chi Tho - Dong Van Cong intersection; branch of bridge N2 connecting from the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay expressway to Mai Chi Tho avenue; underpass HC1-02 connecting the expressway with Mai Chi Tho avenue; overpass branch N3 from Mai Chi Tho avenue turning left into Dong Van Cong street.
