On August 26, the Quang Tri Provincial Military Command said that in response to the "Operation of 500 days and nights to promote the search, repatriation and identification of martyrs' remains" of the National Steering Committee, Team 584, Political Department, Provincial Military Command organized searches in many areas in Quang Tri ward.
In two days, August 25 and 26, the unit searched and collected 1 set of martyrs' remains in Nhu Le neighborhood and a collective grave consisting of 2 sets of martyrs' remains in Tri Buu area.

In Nhu Le neighborhood, martyrs' remains were discovered at a depth of about 0.8m, still in the tomb, wrapped and tied with information wires. The bones have decomposed, but the teeth are still guaranteed to be sampled for DNA testing. The artifacts found include tomb, information wires and buttons.
In the Tri Buu area, the search force discovered a mass grave in the basement, the current state of being bombed is disturbed in bricks and stones. Here, there are still many bone fragments, shin bones, feet and teeth.
The artifacts discovered included 2 parachute hammocks, 2 tanks, 2 daggers, 2 chemical protection masks, 3 burnt sandal soles, 2 belt covers, 2 tongs, a decomposed information machine, AK gun bolts and launchers, compasses, binoculars, infantry shovels, AK magazines, watches, buttons...
Based on the current situation, the number of bones and artifacts, functional forces determined that this is a mass grave with 2 sets of martyrs' remains, disturbed by bombs in the bunker.

According to the Quang Tri Provincial Military Command, as of August 26, Team 584 has searched and collected a total of 20 sets of remains of martyrs in Quang Tri ward.
Among them, 6 remains were collected in the Thach Han Regional General Hospital area; 13 remains in Tri Buu neighborhood, including 2 individual graves and 4 collective graves with 11 remains; one remain in Nhu Le neighborhood.
The remains of the martyrs after being gathered are brought to the shelter at Team 584, Political Department, Quang Tri Provincial Military Command.
Currently, Team 584 is coordinating with functional agencies to continue expanding the scope of searching for martyrs' remains in areas belonging to Quang Tri ward.
