At noon on November 6, in Song Cau ward (Dak Lak), an area forecast to be directly affected by storm No. 13 (Kalmaegi) - Mr. Dao My, Vice Chairman of Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee, chaired a meeting of the Forward Command Department to review and direct emergency response plans for the storm.

At the meeting, representatives of localities and related units reported on the implementation of storm prevention work No. 13.
Mr. Phan Tran Van Huy, Secretary of the Xuan Canh Commune Party Committee, said that the entire area at risk of high tides in the locality has been evacuated. A total of 20 households in high tides and 500 aquaculture cages have been tied up to ensure safety.
From experience in storm prevention in previous years, Mr. Huy suggested that the province should mobilize more small boats to move to areas where canoes cannot reach - this is especially necessary when storms make landfall and need support vehicles in vulnerable areas.
The Head of the Dak Lak Province Fishing Port Management Board said that up to now, the boats have left the fishing port area and moved to a safe anchorage location. The Management Board has notified all ship owners and businesses in the port to proactively prevent storms and ensure safety.
"The brothers in the port are deployed on duty 24/7. We have also organized a notice to captains and ship owners to absolutely not stay on the ship because the storm is about to make landfall, said Mr. Vien.
After listening to the report, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Dao My province requested that immediately after the meeting, units and localities must review all storm prevention work, propagate and remind people to proactively take precautions, especially pay attention to vulnerable areas, high tides and areas at risk of landslides.

Mr. Dao My emphasized that the management of ships must be unified, clearly understanding the number of vehicles that have been anchored and the number remaining at sea, ensuring absolute safety anchorage. The authorities need to patrol and control each raft, and handle immediately if they discover any people staying behind, absolutely do not leave anyone outside the shelter safe.
Localities and units must take the lead in ensuring the safety of assets and houses for people both on land and underwater. At the same time, mobilize maximum means and equipment of people and businesses to participate in response and remediation work when incidents occur, Mr. Dao My directed.

The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also assigned localities to establish patrol teams, clarify the responsibilities of leaders, promptly handle areas at risk of landslides, and review households that have not yet been relocated.
Mr. Dao My emphasized: "When the weather is unsafe, localities must announce a ban on people going out, and at the same time warn people in mountainous areas and steep slopes to be vigilant and ready to evacuate when necessary".
