Dak Lak - Faced with the complicated developments of storm No. 13, the Song Cau ward government has made a plan to evacuate households from the danger zone.

On the evening of November 5, Mr. Tran Cong Hoan - Secretary of the Song Cau Ward Party Committee - said that the locality had made a plan to urgently evacuate 92 households with 160 people in two coastal residential groups at risk of being affected by high tides when storm No. 13 (storm Kalmaegi) entered.

According to the plan, at around 6:00 p.m. the same day, after dinner, the authorities will organize the evacuation of people to Lien Phu Pagoda and Xuan Phuong Kindergarten to ensure safety.

The government has fully prepared necessities, medicine and drinking water to serve during the storm shelter process. That same evening, many households in Dan Phu 2 residential group - a coastal area - moved to Lien Phu pagoda to avoid the storm.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Tot, one of the evacuated households, said that her house was only a few steps from the beach, with only two elderly couples in the house, so she decided to temporarily stay at the pagoda.

She shared: "My family has struggled, but is still worried. More than ten years ago, a storm collapsed the whole tunnel, so now I don't dare to be subjective."

Faced with the complicated developments of storm No. 13, the Song Cau Ward Civil Defense Command has proactively deployed many response measures to ensure the safety of people and property.

By 12:00 on November 5, the ward had established 3 working groups led by the leaders of the ward People's Committee, along with 18 disaster prevention and control shock troops - search and rescue in 18 residential groups.

The government has reviewed and planned to relocate 426 households with 1,082 people in areas at risk of high tides, landslides, and deep flooding.

On November 5 alone, 92 households and 160 people are expected to be urgently evacuated to safe shelters. Militia, police and soldiers are mobilized to support people to build houses, especially in the Dan Phu 2 area.

To date, 102 fishing vessels have entered the safe anchorage area. Measures to prevent storm No. 13 in Song Cau ward are being vigorously implemented, ensuring readiness to respond when the storm makes landfall, minimizing damage to people and property.
