On December 3, the Dak Nong Province Construction Investment Project Management Board said that the unit had sent a dispatch to the Provincial People's Committee reporting that Mr. Le Thanh Chung, Deputy Director of this unit, had submitted a resignation letter.
The document stated that Mr. Chung asked to quit his job from December 2 for health reasons and to deal with family matters.
In his resignation letter, Mr. Chung also committed that while waiting for approval from the competent authorities to resign and hand over his work to the agency's board of directors, he would take unpaid leave from December 2.
In addition to being sent to his current workplace, Mr. Chung's resignation letter was also sent to the Dak Nong Provincial People's Committee and Department of Home Affairs.
Previously, Lao Dong Newspaper reported that on November 28, Dak Nong Department of Construction issued a document revoking the practice certificates of Mr. Le Thanh Chung - Deputy Director of the Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board.
According to the document, the Department of Construction revoked the certificate of construction supervision of road and bridge traffic works - grade II, valid until July 19, 2026; Construction supervision of technical infrastructure works - grade II; Management of traffic and technical infrastructure projects - grade II, valid until March 22, 2028.
The Department of Construction also revoked the above certificates issued to Mr. Chung (including certificates that expired in 2018 and 2023, respectively).
The reason for revoking Mr. Chung's construction practice certificate is that he used an illegal university degree to apply for a construction practice certificate.
Previously, Mr. Chung sent a dossier to the Department of Construction Management, Ministry of Construction, requesting a certificate of practice in the construction field.
The file includes many types of documents. Among them, there is a university degree issued by the University of Transport on May 25, 2007.
Afterwards, the Department of Construction Management sent a document to the University of Transport to authenticate the above degree.
On October 14, the University of Transport issued a document confirming that the school did not grant Mr. Chung a degree in bridge and road construction; the information about his graduation degree is incorrect.
Since then, the Department of Construction Management has sent an official dispatch and requested the Dak Nong Department of Construction to review the documents and revoke the issued practice certificate according to regulations.
