In the early morning of July 24, the Command Committee for Civil Defense - Natural Disaster Prevention, Control and Search and Rescue (PCTT-TKCN) of Phu Tho province issued a flood alert when the water level on the two main rivers, the Bui River and the Bua River, exceeded the safe threshold.
At 4:00 a.m. the same day, the water level of the Bui River at Lam Son hydrological station reached 23.04 m, exceeding alert level II by 0.54 m and continuing to increase. On the Bua River, at Thanh Son station, the water level reached 23.18m, exceeding alert level I by 0.18m.
In response to the above developments, the Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention and Control of Phu Tho province issued an alert level II on the Bui River to the communes and wards: Luong Son, Hoa Son, Lam Son, Nhuan Trach, Tan Vinh and alert level I on the Bua River to the communes and wards: Dong Luong, Van Xuan, Thanh Son, Vo Mieu.
Localities are required to deploy forces and vehicles according to the alert level, organize patrols, guard, check dykes, culverts, and pumping stations. At the same time, it is necessary to urgently notify households living outside the dike to be ready to evacuate when the floodwaters rise.
