Phu Yen receives the Certificate of Special National Monument

On November 28, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism announced its decision and awarded the Ho Chi Minh Trail at Sea Special National Monument Certificate to Phu Yen province.

On November 28, at the Vung Ro National Historical Site (Dong Hoa town), Phu Yen province held a ceremony to celebrate the 60th anniversary of Vung Ro Wharf receiving the first shipment of Ship No Number (November 28, 1964 - November 28, 2024).

Vung Ro Wharf is associated with the strategic transport route - "Ho Chi Minh Trail at sea", together with "Truong Son Road - Ho Chi Minh Trail" has become a symbol of glory of the whole nation, the embodiment of the will and aspiration to fight against foreign invaders to unify the country.

From November 1964 to February 1965, Vung Ro wharf welcomed 4 unnumbered ships, providing nearly 200 tons of weapons to the provinces of Phu Yen, Khanh Hoa, and Dak Lak, helping to strengthen the fighting strength of our army and people, achieving many resounding victories, contributing to the liberation of the South and national reunification.

Phu Yen Provincial Party Secretary Pham Dai Duong said that 60 years have passed, but the event of the Ship Without Number bringing hundreds of tons of goods and weapons from the Northern rear to Vung Ro wharf is still mentioned as a miracle of intelligence and creativity, a glorious page in the history of the army and people of Phu Yen and of the whole nation.

"We will forever be proud of Vung Ro wharf, which is a connection to the "Ho Chi Minh Trail at sea" - a strategic sea route named after the great President Ho Chi Minh", Mr. Pham Dai Duong emphasized.

At the ceremony, Politburo member, Party Central Committee Secretary, Head of the Central Propaganda Department Nguyen Trong Nghia hoped that Phu Yen province would continue to promote more strongly its extraordinary will, determination, solidarity spirit, and steadfast revolutionary tradition in the cause of national liberation and reunification.

Phu Yen needs to improve the effectiveness of propaganda and education on revolutionary historical traditions for cadres, party members and people so that each person loves the country, the sea and islands more; promote the historical significance of the event, of the Ship Without Numbers, of the Ho Chi Minh Trail at sea to promote the historical and cultural image of the country to friends and tourists at home and abroad.

At the ceremony, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism announced the Prime Minister's Decision and awarded the Certificate of Special National Monument of Ho Chi Minh Trail at Sea to Phu Yen province.
