On April 11, the People's Committee of Phu Yen province held a press conference to inform the socio -economic situation in the first quarter of 2025. One of the contents of concern at the meeting is the implementation of the retirement regime before the age according to the Government's Decree No. 178/2024/ND-CP.
Mr. Vu Le Cac - Deputy Director of the Department of Home Affairs of Phu Yen province - said that up to now, the whole province has 243 cases of early retirement. Of which, the province has decided to retire 14 cases.
According to Mr. Nguyen Huu Toan - Deputy Director of the Department of Finance of Phu Yen province, after receiving the retirement decision, some officials still have concerns and questions about the cost of paying allowances and concurrent regimes (ameasums not within the scope of benefits according to the provisions of Decree 178), so they have been invited by this unit to work and explain.
Up to now, this unit has discussed with the Department of Home Affairs, and has submitted a document to the Provincial People's Committee proposing the Provincial People's Council to approve a resolution to supplement 14.8 billion VND from salary sources, paid to 14 cases of early retirement according to Decree 178.
At the press conference, Mr. Le Tan Ho - Permanent Vice Chairman of Phu Yen Provincial People's Committee - emphasized that not all cadres who have voluntary retirement applications will be resolved. Cases with voluntary retirement applications under Decree 178 but not yet resolved will be transferred to departments, branches and units to develop a separate set of assessment criteria.
"Each agency has its own characteristics, no unit is like another unit. Therefore, the province agreed to let that agency self-assess and select retirees according to Decree 178, then send them to the Department of Home Affairs for synthesis and submission to the People's Committee for approval. The spirit of brothers who do well should be kept," said Mr. Ho.
