Travel plan for Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3 section from August 20

The Ministry of Construction has just informed about the traffic organization of a section of Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3 from August 20.

According to the Ministry of Construction on August 19, the competent authority inaugurated component project 1A of the Tan Van - Nhon Trach construction investment project, phase 1, on Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3. The project was put into operation from August 20.

Regarding traffic organization on this route as follows:

From 7:00 a.m. on August 20, 2025 to December 2026: Exploitation of component project 1A, Tan Van - Nhon Trach section. Of which, 300 m of temporary road under Component Project 1 will be used (waiting for the completion of the intersection under Component Project 1, expected to be completed by the end of 2025).

During this period, operating at a speed of 80 km/h, only vehicles: cars, trucks under 1.5 tons, passenger cars with 16 seats or less are allowed to travel; 02 wheel vehicles are allowed to travel from Provincial Road 25B to Ly Tu Trong intersection in Dong Nai province, not yet allowed to travel through Nhon Trach bridge.

From December 2026 onwards (after the completion of Component Project 1 and Component Project 3): Organize traffic on the entire expressway, speed 100 km/h (4-lane expressway traffic, mixed-use vehicles on parallel roads), Nhon Trach bridge exploits mixed traffic (organize the cross-section of 2 motor vehicle lanes and 2 mixed-use lanes, with a median strip separating the motor vehicle lane and mixed-use lane), motor vehicle lane at speed 80 km/h, mixed-use lane at speed 60 km/h.

The Ministry of Construction informs about the investment project to build the Tan Van - Nhon Trach section, phase 1, on Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3.

The investor of this project is My Thuan Project Management Board.

Starting point: Connecting with Component Project 3 at Km5+000 in Dong Nai province. Ending point: connecting with component project 1 at Km13+140 in Thu Duc, Ho Chi Minh City. Total length of the project: about 8.14 km.

The total investment of the project (according to Decision No. 702/QD-BGTVT dated June 3, 2024) is: VND 6,955.65 billion. Of which, ODA loan capital from the EDCS Fund of the Korean Government is VND 4,175.90 billion and counterpart capital of the Vietnamese Government is VND 2,779.75 billion.

The scale of the project: a level III plain road according to TCVN 4054:205, a design speed of 80 km/h; the road surface and roadbed width is 18.75m/19.75m.

The inauguration and operation of component project 1A of the Tan Van - Nhon Trach construction investment project, phase 1, will shorten the journey from Dong Nai province to Ho Chi Minh City, opening a new development journey to facilitate the transportation of goods, enhancing trade exchanges, remote traffic flow and reducing congestion on inner-city routes of Ho Chi Minh City.

The project also gradually contributes to completing the Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3 system according to the detailed planning approved by the Prime Minister in Decision 1697/QD-TTg dated September 28, 2011. Promote the socio-economic development of the Eastern and Southwestern regions in particular and the whole country in general.
