As Lao Dong reported, after collecting opinions and receiving high consensus and agreement from the people, the Project to reorganize Bac Ninh and Bac Giang provinces to establish Bac Ninh province was submitted to the Government on April 28, before the prescribed time.
According to the Project, the two provinces of Bac Ninh - Bac Giang will merge and have a new name, Bac Ninh province, the administrative center will be located in the current Bac Giang city. The new Bac Ninh province will have a total of 99 communes and wards; population of 3,619,433 people.
The project also outlined a plan to reorganize central agencies in the area.
Accordingly, the Social Insurance of Bac Giang and Bac Ninh provinces have merged and organized activities since April 1, 2025.
Some agencies and units that have not yet organized the arrangement include: (1) Provincial Police; (2) Provincial Military Command; (3) Judgment Enforcement Department; (4) Tax Department; (5) Statistics Department; (6) State Treasury Department; (8) Customs Department.
The People's Committee of Bac Ninh province (new) will have a plan to direct all levels and sectors of the province to closely coordinate with units to arrange locations for working headquarters, prepare documents, and implement the arrangement of the above units to ensure compliance with the provisions of law and Resolution No. 76/UBTVQH15 dated April 15, 2025 of the National Assembly Standing Committee.
Propose that the Supreme People's Procuracy arrange and merge the People's Procuracy of Bac Ninh and Bac Giang provinces according to the provisions of the Law on Organization of the People's Procuracy.
Rearrange the People's Procuracy at the district level in the two provinces to suit the practical situation of the sector.
Propose that the Supreme People's Court arrange and merge the People's Courts of Bac Ninh and Bac Giang provinces to establish the People's Court of Bac Ninh province (new) according to the provisions of the Law on Court Organization 2024.
Rearrange the District People's Courts in the two provinces to suit the practical situation and tasks of the sector.
