QUANG TRI - The province announced a natural disaster emergency, urgently repairing the damage to National Highway 9E caused by storm No. 1.

On July 26, the Office of the People's Committee of Quang Tri province announced that the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee had signed a decision to declare a natural disaster emergency to overcome damage to traffic infrastructure due to the impact of storm No. 1.

Accordingly, an emergency situation was applied at the section Km37+900 to Km37+930 on National Highway 9E - which was severely damaged by heavy rain lasting from June 12 to 14 after storm No. 1, posing a potential risk to serious traffic safety.

The Provincial People's Committee requests relevant departments, branches, sectors and localities to urgently deploy measures to overcome the consequences of natural disasters, ensuring safety for people and vehicles in accordance with regulations.

It is known that National Highway 9E is 43km long, with a starting point intersecting with the coastal road in Dong Hoi (Quang Binh), the end point connecting with the Ho Chi Minh Road through Quang Tri province. This route plays an important role in connecting inter-provincial traffic and developing the regional economy.
