Information from the Office of Quang Tri Provincial People's Committee said that, implementing Official Dispatch No. 1697/UBND-TH dated March 31, 2026 on strengthening discipline, order, improving the quality and progress of work, the Office of the Provincial People's Committee has transferred the article "Smoke and dust from Quang Binh energy pellet factory causing pollution" published in Lao Dong Newspaper dated June 5, 2026 to the Department of Agriculture and Environment.
The Department of Agriculture and Environment is assigned to preside over and coordinate with the Economic Zone Management Board and relevant units and localities to specifically inspect the content reflected in the newspaper. If violations are detected, units must strictly handle them in accordance with legal regulations.
The Office of the Provincial People's Committee requests relevant agencies to respond information to Lao Dong Newspaper and report to the Provincial People's Committee before June 15, 2026.




Previously, the Quang Binh energy pellet factory (Hon La Economic Zone) was reported to have dust, smoke and noise affecting the health and working environment of the nearby company.
According to the reporter of Lao Dong Newspaper, the factory chimney emits a high column of smoke, flying straight into the nearby company area, the loud engine sound makes it difficult for workers to concentrate and rest. Fine dust sticks to equipment, phones and computers even after cleaning. Some hard objects such as wood chips also fly into the working area with the wind.
After the reflection, the Quang Tri Provincial Economic Zone Management Board requested the Quang Binh energy pellet factory to temporarily suspend operations to develop a remedial plan, ensuring proper operation in accordance with environmental regulations before returning to production.
