On the afternoon of August 17, according to Mr. Le Hong Thai - Chairman of the People's Committee of Nhon Mai commune, Nghe An province, at Xoi Voi village, Huoi To 1 and Na Loi, a large landslide occurred, dozens of meters of embankment collapsed, and rocks, soil and mud overflowed onto the road, making it impossible for vehicles to pass. In addition, National Highway 16 from My Ly to Nhon Mai also has many new landslides, posing a potential risk of insecurity when there is heavy rain.

According to the Road Management Department, after the flood at the end of July, the entire National Highway 16 route had hundreds of landslides, many roads were cracked and tilted, but were only temporarily leveled to open one lane. The risk of landslides is still very high.
It is known that the flood at the end of July swept away 73 houses, dozens of infrastructure works were damaged, 80% of crops and thousands of livestock and poultry were swept away, with estimated damage of more than 700 billion VND.
National Highway 16 is a vital route connecting mountainous communes with National Highway 48 and National Highway 7. The continued isolation has caused many difficulties in the work of overcoming and stabilizing people's lives.

Meanwhile, in the old Vinh City area, heavy rain also caused deep flooding on many streets such as Le Nin, Nguyen Thi Minh Khai, Phan Boi Chau, Truong Chinh..., causing a series of cars and motorbikes to stall, people had to ask for rescue to move.
