Mr. Huy Phong (Residential Area 586, Hung Phu Ward) said that currently, garbage collection is not carried out regularly. There are times when it is collected once every 2-3 days, even lasting for about a week, causing garbage to accumulate, affecting people's lives.
According to Mr. Huy Phong, the current garbage collection fee is nearly 50,000 VND/month, more than double compared to before. However, the service quality is not commensurate.
The service is not as good as before, even worse," Mr. Huy Phong reflected.

Also in Residential Area 586, Ms. Vu Thi Thu P shared that for more than half a month now, domestic waste has not been collected. Every day, the family has to collect a large bag of garbage to bring to the collection point, and so far more than 10 bags have been accumulated.
Ms. P added that previously, the garbage collection fee was about 20,000 VND/month, now it has increased to more than 50,000 VND/month. In the early days after the price increase, garbage was collected daily. However, about a month ago, the collection frequency decreased to 5-6 days/time, and currently it has been more than 10 days and the unit has not come to collect it yet.
If service fees increase but collection is carried out regularly, ensuring environmental sanitation, people have no opinion. However, the price increase while service quality decreases makes us very upset," Ms. P said.

In Cai Rang ward, Ms. Nguyen Thi Viet Thuy said that in the past 5 days, no one has collected garbage, and has not cleaned up. "I don't know why this time it's been so long, I don't know where to complain, I don't know who to call," Ms. Thuy complained.
On the afternoon of June 25, in an exchange with a reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Nguyen Thach Em - Director of Can Tho Urban Joint Stock Company - informed that due to workers being sick, the company has not supplemented, leading to slow garbage collection.
According to report No. 150 of Can Tho City People's Committee on domestic solid waste management, the total volume collected and treated in the area is about 1,200,00-1,712.95 tons/day with a collection and treatment rate in urban areas reaching 96.76%, completing the set plan. Currently, in Can Tho, there are 16 units collecting and transporting domestic solid waste.
