In a quick exchange with Lao Dong Newspaper reporters, Mr. Hoang Quoc Huy, Head of Mau Son Hydrometeorological Station, said that the lowest temperature recorded at Mau Son peak is only about 2.7 degrees Celsius.

The lowest temperature is commonly 6-9 degrees Celsius, the highest is 12-16 degrees Celsius. The western, northern, eastern and central areas of the province all maintain harmful cold conditions; especially the southern area has slightly higher temperatures but is still very cold to harmful.

In the Northwest region, the common temperature is below 10 degrees Celsius; Moc Chau is only about 5 degrees Celsius, Tam Duong 8.5 degrees Celsius, Son La 8.1 degrees Celsius.
In the Northeast region, widespread severe cold; Cao Bang 8-9.5 degrees C, Lang Son 8.9°C, especially Mau Son dropped very low, about 2.9 degrees C, approaching the ice threshold.
Some other areas such as Tam Dao 6.9 degrees C, Mai Chau 7.8 degrees C; Bac Kan, Thai Nguyen fluctuate 10-10.8 degrees C.
