On November 9, according to the reporter's records at the Cao Bang City Stadium area (old name), the entire structure was almost seriously damaged after the major flood caused by the circulation of storms No. 10 and 11.
The system of walls surrounding the stadium has collapsed, some new sections have been demolished to ensure safety. The grass surface was flooded with mud and waste. The authorities have demolished the surrounding walls because after the flood, these walls are no longer able to withstand the load.

The entire project only has the A stand area, which is relatively safe. Although stands B are still quite intact, there are also many cracks, posing a potential risk of insecurity.
Mr. Hoang Khanh Duy, a resident of Thuc Phan ward, recalled: On the evening of October 7, when the floodwaters rose rapidly and the city center was submerged in water, we heard that the stadium wall had collapsed. This project was built a long time ago and has been flooded twice in a row, so collapse is inevitable.
Cao Bang City Stadium is located on Vuon Cam Street, Hop Giang Ward (now Thuc Phan Ward), a project bearing a strong historical mark - where President Ho Chi Minh visited and spoke to the people in 28.
For local people, this is not only a place for sports activities but also a cultural symbol, a memory that has been associated with many generations.

Previously, speaking with reporters, Mr. Kim Tien Dung - Director of the Center for Sports and Art Training and Competition of Cao Bang province - said: "The unit will coordinate with departments and branches to conduct a survey and prepare a detailed report on the current status of the stadium.
We will quickly organize the cleaning of mud and waste to ensure hygiene, and at the same time recommend that the authorities soon have a plan to repair and restore sports training and competition activities".
After the flood, the stadium, which was once the pride of the people of Cao Bang, now has only the ruined walls left. The restoration of the project is not only a sports need but also a way to preserve a part of the historical memory of this borderland.

Recently, in Notice No. 06-TB/TU, the Standing Committee of the Cao Bang Provincial Party Committee agreed in principle to hand over the land and assets of the stadium to Thuc Phan ward for management.
"Using support funds from the central budget to urgently dismantle fences, gates, stands and other auxiliary items; clean up garbage and mud in the yard area" - the announcement content clearly stated.
At the same time, the Standing Committee of the Cao Bang Provincial Party Committee also agreed on the policy of researching and establishing a project to renovate the Cao Bang Stadium into a flower garden, park, sports field combined with water storage and drainage works.

Talking to reporters, a representative of the People's Committee of Thuc Phan Ward said that the locality is coordinating with functional agencies and consulting units to study the options.
"First of all, we prioritize creating a space solemn enough for people to retire, because this is where Uncle Ho visited and talked to the people in the province.
In addition, the formation of a space for entertainment, sports or a combination of a static parking lot is also taken into account" - said a representative of Thuc Phan Ward People's Committee.
