Responding to Lao Dong Newspaper (in writing), Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Da Nang, Mr. Ha Vy said that the City People's Committee is the unit that organizes the campaign to create new symbols for the city after merging with Quang Nam province. From June 12, 2025, the People's Committee of Da Nang City (old) issued a Plan according to the Submission of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism (old) on the Regulations of this campaign.
The purpose of the campaign is to create a logo of the new Da Nang city after merging with Quang Nam (from July 1, 2025) to position and enhance the city's brand identity, officially apply in information and propaganda activities, serve socio-political tasks and promote the city to domestic and international friends.
The main method of organization is to place orders.
Accordingly, the city has ordered 5 professional and prestigious artists with many award-winning works in the field of symbolic design. The Organizing Committee also received works from individuals and organizations of interest nationwide.
The results have received 26 samples of symbols. Of which, 15 were samples of 5 authors who were ordered and 11 were samples of 5 authors who were not ordered.
Da Nang has also set criteria for the logo design contest, stipulating that participating works must have local characteristics, aesthetics and creativity; not complicated in lines, harmonious in color, easy to remember, easy to recognize and impress the public.
Flexible application in display environments (real, online and display materials); ensuring contrast, sharpness when used and easy to express on different materials and data platforms. The language of creating is minimalist, concise, modern; the graphic cluster ensures separation of the written parts (if any).
The content of the work is required to be highly general, expressing the characteristics of the people, culture, geography, and history of the new city of Da Nang (Quang Nam and Da Nang). Showing one or more typical images of natural landscapes, architectural works, cultural heritage; message of solidarity and development of Da Nang city in the new period of the city " driving force", being an intersection and connection point for domestic trade and integration. Dhibiting the solidarity of communities and pride in the City.
The Organizing Committee established an Art Council for the campaign, including central and local art experts such as: Painter Luong Xuan Doan - Chairman of the Vietnam Fine Arts Association, artist Ho Dinh Nam Kha, Head of the Vietnam Fine Arts Association in Da Nang, artist Tran Trong Dung - Chairman of the Da Nang City Fine Arts Association and experts (representatives of the City People's Committee, leaders of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Da Nang City before and Quang Nam Province...) The Council met, scored the best works and advised the Organizing Committee to plan to report to the city leaders.
After many edits and completions, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism has collected public opinions on the logo model through the City's Electronic Information Portal from July 1-15, 2025.
