The Gia Lam Park construction project (Hanoi) in Co Bi commune and Trau Quy town was started in June 2024, with a total investment of 286 billion VND.
According to the People's Committee of Gia Lam district, this is the largest and most modern park in the district. When put into use, it will help create synchronization in architecture, technical infrastructure and meet the needs of urban development when Gia Lam district becomes a district.
The total land area to be recovered for the project is 138,345.5m2, involving 379 households and individuals with agricultural land; 3 households and individuals owning assets on land and public land managed by the People's Committee of Co Bi commune, Trau Quy town.
To date, Gia Lam District People's Committee has completed the recovery of 59,400.8m2 of land from 265 households and public land managed by Co Bi Commune People's Committee. The total compensation and support amount is 49,377 billion VND.

There are 3 households with construction works, trees, crops, and assets on land in Cuu Viet residential group that do not agree with the compensation and support plan and do not hand over the site.
The above 3 households were identified as renting agricultural land from many households and public land managed by the People's Committee of Trau Quy town (total area of more than 70,000m2) for production purposes.
On October 18, 2024, Gia Lam District People's Committee issued a Decision approving the compensation and support plan for 3 families and individuals owning assets on land in Trau Quy town.
On October 24 and 29, the Gia Lam District Land Fund Development Center continued to coordinate with the People's Committee of Trau Quy Town and the District's Site Clearance Working Group to pay money to the above 3 households. However, the households still did not receive compensation support.
On October 31, the authorities of Gia Lam district and Trau Quy town continued to organize propaganda and persuade 3 households to receive compensation and support money and hand over the land to implement the Gia Lam park project, but the households still did not comply.
To ensure project progress, on November 11, the District Land Fund Development Center submitted a request to the Gia Lam District People's Committee to consider and issue decisions on compulsory land recovery for 3 households within the project site clearance boundary.
It is expected that by the end of November 2024, the Gia Lam District People's Committee will organize the forced clearance of constructions and trees on the land within the park implementation area so that the project can be completed on schedule.
