Land clearance for the 3,241 billion VND road project in Hanoi is about to be completed

Hanoi - The 3.4km road project, with a total investment of 3,241 billion VND at the southern gateway of the city, is expected to complete site clearance in September 2026.

The investment project to build the road connecting Phap Van - Cau Gie road with Ring Road 3 started in July 2023.

The project is about 3.4km long, with a typical road cross-section scale of 60m wide. The starting point intersects with the Phap Van - Cau Gie expressway, and the ending point intersects with Ring Road 3.

The project has a total investment of 3,241 billion VND from the city budget.

This is a very important traffic project with the goal of completing the traffic infrastructure system according to the plan, solving traffic congestion at the Phap Van intersection - the southern gateway of Hanoi Capital; contributing to ensuring traffic order and safety for the inner city area, promoting socio-economic development in the southern and southeastern areas of the city.

According to the Hanoi Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board (the investor), the project has a total area to be cleared (GPMB) of 322,062 m2 with a total of 2,524 plans.

To date, functional agencies have recovered 259,21.4 m2/322,062 m2, reaching 80.4%. It is expected to strive to complete site clearance work by September 30, 2026.

Regarding the construction progress, the project is divided into 3 construction packages. The total realized value to date is 297.98/2,024.47 billion VND, reaching 14.72%. The construction site that can be organized is only about 3.1/32.2ha.

Inspecting the project progress on August 8, Politburo Member, Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Tran Duc Thang directed relevant localities such as Thanh Tri commune, Yen So ward... to complete the entire site clearance work for the remaining area in September 2026 to hand over to the construction contractor.

Requesting relevant units to focus on implementing the connecting section from Cau Gie to National Highway 1A (800m long), ensuring synchronization with the project of the road connecting Phap Van - Cau Gie road with Ring Road 3. The site clearance work for this section must be completed in September 2026.

Regarding construction work, Mr. Tran Duc Thang requested the Hanoi Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board and the contractor to accelerate construction work as soon as there is site, ensuring the quality and progress of the project set out.

Hanoi Party Secretary Tran Duc Thang assigned the Party Committee of Hanoi City People's Committee to direct the City People's Committee and relevant departments and branches to urgently review, if adjusting plans, technical solutions must be completed in August to create favorable conditions for contractors to construct.

According to the plan, the project is expected to be completed in Q4/2027.
