On the morning of November 27, Road Management Office III.1 (Road Management Area III) said that at around 9:00 p.m. on November 26, the positive slope section Km1380+500 of Ho Chi Minh road (Vo Nguyen Giap road, Kham Duc town, Phuoc Son district) suffered a serious landslide, with more than 2,000 cubic meters of rock and soil from the positive slope flowing down, causing a complete traffic jam.
According to local residents, at that time, they heard a loud noise, then a large amount of rock and soil from the hill across the road poured down onto the road, spilling across the road to the wall of a house.
Upon receiving the news, that same night, police and military forces of Phuoc Son district were present at the scene to regulate and direct traffic.
To ensure the safety of local residents, during the night, the People's Committee of Kham Duc town mobilized dozens of households on both sides of Ho Chi Minh road, near the landslide area, to evacuate to a safe place.
The unit that manages and regularly maintains the route has sent workers and machinery to the scene to urgently handle and overcome the landslide.
In recent days, Quang Nam province has had prolonged heavy rains, causing many landslides on National Highway 40B, National Highway 24C and mountainous areas through Nam and Bac Tra My districts. Bac Tra My district has urgently evacuated 138 households and 523 people threatened by landslides.
