At about 2 pm on June 29, on Nga Bat road on the right bank, in Phu My neighborhood, Sa Dec ward, Dong Thap province, a serious landslide occurred, breaking a section of the embankment, directly threatening the traffic route in this area.
Immediately after the incident occurred, in the afternoon of the same day, Mr. Huynh Anh Dien - Vice Chairman of Sa Dec Ward People's Committee - and specialized departments came to survey the actual landslide situation and direct the implementation of emergency handling solutions.

Through inspection, the landslide section is about 30m long, the landslide location penetrates deep into the bank about 5m, and at the same time, a situation of deep encroachment into the existing road section appears.
This area was previously built with a protective embankment, but due to the long-term impact of the flow, the embankment section has deteriorated, leading to landslides, sweeping away part of the embankment along with some items and green trees of the people.
Faced with the above situation, Vice Chairman of Sa Dec Ward People's Committee Huynh Anh Dien directed Phu My neighborhood to strengthen propaganda and mobilize people in the area to raise vigilance, proactively move belongings, and not leave property in landslide-prone areas.

At the same time, functional sectors urgently put up warning ropes, temporarily prohibiting road vehicles from circulating through dangerous areas to ensure safety for people.
In the immediate future, the locality is implementing temporary reinforcement solutions by building melaleuca piles, combined with sandbags to limit the landslide situation from continuing to expand, affecting the existing road.
In the long term, Sa Dec Ward People's Committee will invite a consulting unit to survey and propose appropriate technical plans to reinforce the affected embankment section; and at the same time report to Dong Thap Provincial People's Committee to consider supporting funds to soon deploy remedial works, ensuring long-term safety for the embankment and traffic in the area.
