Previously, at around 4:00 a.m. on October 1, at km 269+750 (in the Khau Pha Pass area, Tu Le Commune), a large landslide appeared, cutting off 20m of the road surface, cutting off traffic from Nghia Lo to Mu Cang Chai and Than Uyen (Lai Chau).


Immediately after receiving the information, the unit mobilized excavators and stone cages to be ready to take remedial measures.
"However, a large landslide and a height of about 400 meters is still showing signs of sliding down the road. At the same time, the water flowing down the stream is still overflowing, causing many difficulties in the repair work," Mr. Hung added.
According to the Captain of Team 4, in the immediate future, the unit will plan to straighten the flow along the ditch next to the road. After cutting the water flow at the landslide location, stone cages will continue to be reinforced to temporarily clear the route for people.


Mr. Le Dinh Khanh Tung - Vice Chairman of Tu Le Commune People's Committee said that affected by the circulation of storm No. 10, 1 house in the commune completely collapsed, 10 houses were flooded and 21 houses were landslides.
Immediately after the natural disaster occurred, Tu Le commune directed the police and military forces of the commune to mobilize human resources in the villages to inspect and support and guide people to evacuate people and property.

According to a quick report from the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Lao Cai province, floods have killed 5 people, 5 people are missing and 10 people are injured. The whole province has 9,787 affected houses.


The locality also evacuated 3,767 households living in areas at risk of landslides and flash floods to safe places at relatives' houses and houses in the village.
The province's traffic was severely damaged with hundreds of landslides, many routes causing traffic disruption; many clean water, irrigation works, power grid infrastructure and communication works were severely damaged. The initial damage is estimated at about 2,750 billion VND.
