On the evening of May 10, 2026, Road Traffic Police Team No. 1 - Lao Cai Provincial Police Department organized a scene inspection, and at the same time stretched ropes and installed warning signs in the area of Km98+300 National Highway 4D, passing through O Quy Ho (Sa Pa), where there is a risk of landslides of soil and rocks onto the road.
According to records, the area is currently experiencing prolonged light rain, thick fog, which limits visibility and makes the road surface slippery.

Notably, the positive slope shows signs of instability, posing a potential risk of further landslides at any time, especially in prolonged unfavorable weather conditions.
Faced with the above situation, functional forces recommend that vehicles passing through the area need to reduce speed, drive in the correct lane, turn on nearby lights and fog lights to increase visibility.
Vehicle drivers must absolutely not stop and park for long periods under high taluy areas; maintain a safe distance from vehicles in front to proactively handle situations.
For trucks and passenger cars moving through steep passes, it is necessary to proactively shift to low gears, limit continuous braking to avoid the risk of losing brakes when going downhill.

In the conditions of the night in the highlands of Sa Pa, thick fog covers, visibility is obscured, functional forces emphasized that just one moment of subjectivity can lead to great risks.
People and tourists are requested to raise awareness and follow instructions to ensure safety when participating in traffic.
Currently, Road Traffic Police Team No. 1 still maintains patrol forces and checkpoints in the area to promptly warn and support people and ensure smooth traffic on the route.
