On the morning of May 16, the Cao Bang Provincial Hydrometeorological Station said that in the past 12 hours (from 10:00 p.m. on May 15 to 10:00 a.m. on May 16), the province has had moderate rain, heavy rain, and very heavy rain in some places.
Some points recorded heavy rainfall including: An Lai 226 mm, Ta Sa 187.4 mm, Phi Hai 182.8 mm, Truong Luong (Hoa An) 167.6 mm, Minh Thanh (Nguyen Binh) 151 mm. Many other areas such as Tu Do, Quang Vinh, Cao Chuong, Duc Thong, Thong Nong, Nam Nang, Na Giang also recorded rain from 67 mm to nearly 100 mm.
Soil moisture data shows that some areas in Ha Lang, Ha Quang, Hoa An, Nguyen Binh, Quang Hoa, Thach An, Trung Khanh districts and Cao Bang city are at a level of near or completely saturated (over 80%).
It is forecasted that in the next 6 hours, the province will continue to have rain with an amount of 1030 mm. Therefore, there is a high risk of landslides, subsidence and flooding in low-lying areas, especially in Ha Quang, Hoa An, Nguyen Binh, Quang Hoa, Thach An and Trung Khanh districts.
The provincial Hydrometeorological Station warns of the risk of natural disasters due to flash floods, landslides and land subsidence at Level 1. These phenomena can threaten people's lives, cause traffic jams, damage civil works, damage production and seriously affect local socio-economic problems.
