The People's Committee of Tam Quang commune, leaders of the Quang Nam Provincial Border Guard, and the Nui Thanh district government organized a reception for fishermen in distress at sea to return.

To promptly encourage and share the pain with the families of the fishermen in distress, the Quang Nam Border Guard supported the families of the fishermen who died, the families of the missing fishermen, and the fishermen in distress on the QNa - 91679 TS boat, a total amount of 15 million VND.
Leaders of Nui Thanh district and local departments, organizations, and the Ky Ha Port Border Guard Station also supported the families of the fishermen in distress on March 23; awarded certificates of merit to the collective of ships that actively supported the search and rescue.


As reported, at noon on March 21, the QNa-91679 TS ship, owned and captained by Mr. Phan Van Thanh (54 years old, residing in Tam Giang commune), along with 14 crew members, fishing at coordinates 13o 50 North latitude, 110o 09 East longitude (about 130 nautical miles southeast of An Hoa Cape) had a broken engine, drifted away and was completely sunk by waves.
Due to the high waves, the situation of fishermen became dangerous, directly threatening their lives. Three fishing boats of Quang Nam fishermen fishing nearby promptly arrived to rescue and rescue 11 crew members, one of whom had died.
At 6:30 a.m. on March 23, fishing boat QNa-91769 TS, driven by Mr. Tran Tan Sinh (Tam Giang, Nui Thanh, Quang Nam) brought the crew members in distress on fishing boat QNa-91679 TS and a crew member's body to De Gi Fishing Port (Cat Khanh town, Phu Cat district, Binh Dinh).
After the ship docked at De Gi fishing port, Cat Khanh Border Guard Station (BDBP of Binh Dinh province) coordinated with Ky Ha Border Guard Station (BDBP of Quang Nam province) and local authorities to receive and hand over the crew members.
The military police of the province conducted health check-ups for the crew members, took one crew member to the hospital for emergency treatment, and supported the family in bringing the body of crew member Nguyen Luan back to his hometown for burial.
Currently, the Naval Region 3 Command, Coast Guard Region 2 Command in coordination with the Border Guard of Binh Dinh Province and the Border Guard of Quang Ngai Province continue to deploy measures to search for the 4 missing crew members.
