Hoa Binh reservoir, an area often affected by severe natural disasters, is facing a double challenge when the circulation of storm No. 9 caused prolonged rain, while storm No. 10 (Bualoi) continued to move rapidly with strong intensity.
Faced with this risk, communes along the lake have simultaneously deployed response plans, mobilizing forces and means to ensure the safety of people and property.
In Muong Hoa commune, a particularly difficult mountainous locality of Phu Tho province, facing an increasingly serious risk of landslides. Steep terrain and weak geological foundations make heavy rains easy to cause subsidence and landslides.
According to statistics from the People's Committee of Muong Hoa commune, the whole commune currently has about 10 points at high risk of landslides, many locations are located right on the main traffic axis, directly threatening the travel and safety of people.
To proactively prevent this, the commune authorities have urgently put up warning signs and advised people to limit travel through dangerous areas. Households living in risk areas are instructed to temporarily relocate to avoid human losses.

Mr. Dinh Son Tung - Vice Chairman of Muong Hoa Commune People's Committee informed: "The commune has proposed to the province to send experts to survey and assess the current geological status, and develop a resettlement area plan for households in high-risk areas".
In parallel with Muong Hoa, Tan Mai commune also tightened preventive measures before the storm and flood season. In the area, many ships serving transportation and tourism often operate on the lake surface.
The commune government has developed a plan to move all vehicles to a safe shelter, and at the same time strictly inspect the anchorage area, resolutely not letting people stay on the boat when strong winds appear.
Regarding aquaculture activities, the authorities instructed cage owners and guard posts to evacuate in time, absolutely not leaving people behind when the storm made landfall.
Not only stopping at waterway vehicles, Tan Mai commune also reviewed the entire residential area, identifying degraded houses that were not able to withstand storms and floods, as well as areas at risk of landslides, flash floods or deep flooding.
The evacuation plan is specifically prepared, associated with the "four on-site" motto to be ready to respond to all emergency situations.
Mr. Bui Ngoc Dai - Chairman of Tan Mai Commune People's Committee emphasized: "Preparing necessities, rescue vehicles and shock forces is a mandatory requirement, not to be passive when natural disasters occur".
In the context of storm No. 10 being considered very strong and complicated, natural disaster prevention and search and rescue work has become a central task of localities along Hoa Binh Lake.
According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, storm No. 10 (Bualoi) is maintaining strong winds of level 11 - 12, gusting to level 15, moving very quickly in the West Northwest direction at a speed of 30 - 35 km/h and is likely to strengthen.
From September 28 to 30, the North and the area from Thanh Hoa to Thua Thien Hue will have heavy to very heavy rain, with common rainfall of 100 - 300mm, some places over 400mm; the Northern and North Central Plains will have 200 - 400mm, locally over 600mm.
