Supermarket in a collective housing area in Hanoi catches fire at dawn

Hanoi - In the early morning of May 14, a fire occurred at a supermarket on the 1st floor of Vinh Phuc collective housing area, Ngoc Ha ward.

According to initial information, at about 4:22 am on the same day, when people discovered smoke coming from a supermarket located on the 1st floor of building G3 - Vinh Phuc collective area, they reported it to Ngoc Ha Ward Police and the Fire and Rescue Police force.

Immediately after receiving the news, Ngoc Ha Ward Police, grassroots security forces and people quickly arrived to deploy initial firefighting measures. The fire area is a supermarket with an area of about 200m2.

At the same time, the Hanoi City Police Command Information Center dispatched 3 fire trucks and 18 officers and soldiers of Quan Ngua Sub-unit (Zone 8 Fire and Rescue Team) and Thuy Khue Sub-unit (Zone 14 Fire and Rescue Team) to the scene.

At about 4:29 am, functional forces controlled and completely extinguished the fire. The fire area was determined to be about 2m2 in the cashier area.

Fortunately, the fire did not cause any casualties. Some property in the cashier area that was damaged by fire included computers, wooden tables, electrical wiring systems and related items. The business establishment is coordinating to statistically assess damage.

According to initial assessments, the cause of the fire may be due to an electrical short circuit in the cashier area. Currently, functional agencies are continuing to examine the scene and investigate to clarify the cause of the incident.

After the fire, Ngoc Ha Ward People's Committee directed functional forces to coordinate to support the business establishment to clean up the scene and soon stabilize operations.
