According to information from Ha Giang Provincial Police, the landslide on National Highway 2, Km51, The landslide was about 300m long, with a volume of over 3,000m3 of soil and rock, 3 houses collapsed, 1 person died, 2 people were missing, and 5 vehicles were buried.

Up to now, 1 victim has been found dead, Ms. T.T.H (born 1971).

According to authorities, the number of people buried may increase. Currently, authorities are mobilizing forces to search for people in buried houses. Highway 2 is still blocked in both directions.

Previously, also in Viet Vinh commune, a victim named V.T.X (born in 1971) was swept away by floodwaters and went missing. In Dong Tam commune, a landslide on the positive slope caused M.T.C (born in 2014) to go missing.

In addition to human losses, heavy rains in Bac Quang district from the night of September 27 to the morning of September 29 caused extensive damage to property and crops. Fifteen houses were affected by landslides and floodwaters. More than 9 hectares of crops were buried. Many traffic routes were cut off.

According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting from 7am to 9am on September 29, Ha Giang province will have moderate to heavy rain, such as: Tan Lap 156.6mm, Dong Tam 58mm.

Soil moisture models show that some areas are near saturation or have reached saturation.

Risk of flash floods on small rivers and streams, landslides on steep slopes in the districts of Bac Quang, Hoang Su Phi, Quang Binh, and Vi Xuyen.
