On October 17, according to information from the Office of the People's Committee of Son La, the Provincial People's Committee has just granted mineral exploration licenses to 4 sand mines in the communes of Pac Nga, Muong Bu, Muong Hung, Chieng Khoong.
Of which, TC 368 Company Limited is licensed to explore 2 sand mines in Muong village (ta Hoc commune), Van village (Pac Nga commune) and in Bac village, Tom village (Muong Bu commune) with a total area of over 32 hectares.
Minh Quang Tay Bac Joint Stock Company is licensed to explore 2 sand mines in Chieng Cang village - Huoi So village (Muong Hung commune) and Lien Phuong village (Chieng Khoong commune) with a total area of over 15 hectares.
The exploration areas are all sand and gravel minerals used for common construction materials. The exploration period is regulated from 9 to 12 months, to clarify the quality and reserves of minerals before conducting exploitation.
The Provincial People's Committee requires enterprises to properly implement the volume and exploration methods according to the approved project; ensure regulations on land, environmental protection and be subject to the supervision of the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Son La province. In case of detecting violations, the competent authorities will handle them according to the provisions of law.
