According to the Ministry of Health's report, during the 8-day Tet holiday (January 25 - February 1, 2025), medical facilities received 24,054 medical examination and emergency cases suspected to be related to traffic. Of these, 9,755 people had to be hospitalized for treatment and monitoring, 159 people died, including 66 deaths before arriving at the hospital, 38 deaths at the hospital and 55 cases with poor prognosis who asked to go home.
As of the morning of February 1, the number of people suspected of being involved in traffic accidents being treated at medical facilities was 5,073. Compared to the same period of the 2024 Lunar New Year, the number of examinations and emergency care due to traffic accidents decreased by 8.9%; the number of hospitalizations for treatment and monitoring decreased by 11.1%; the number of deaths decreased by 28%; the number of deaths before the hospital decreased by 45.2%; deaths in the hospital decreased by 9.4%; and the number of deaths with a death prognosis decreased by 21.3%.
There have been no recorded outbreaks or clusters of dangerous infectious diseases spreading in the community.
According to reports from the national food safety monitoring system (63/63 provinces, cities and 5 regional institutes), along with information from the media, as of 12:00 on February 1, 2025, no food poisoning cases have been recorded.
Regarding medical examination and treatment during the Tet holiday, the Department of Medical Examination and Treatment Management (Ministry of Health) said that synthesizing reports from medical facilities under the Ministry of Health, universities, 63 provincial and municipal Departments of Health and Health Sectors nationwide showed that in the past 24 hours (from January 31 to February 1, 2025) and the preliminary 8 days of Tet holiday, the number of medical examinations, emergency care, hospitalizations and deaths due to traffic accidents decreased significantly compared to the same period of the 2024 Tet holiday. The number of medical examinations and emergency care due to suspected accidents caused by firecrackers also recorded a decrease compared to last year.
