Motorbike driver killed by train while crossing a self-opened level crossing in Hanoi

Hanoi - Train hits and kills 1 motorcyclist at a level crossing of a self-opened railway.

At about 8:03 pm on March 8, in the Van Dien - Thuong Tin railway section (section passing house number 212, Hoang Liet ward, Hanoi), a railway traffic accident occurred, killing one person.

According to initial information, at the above time, a man driving a motorbike with license plate 17L1-60XX was traveling on Ngoc Hoi street in the direction of Thuong Tin. When turning into the self-opened level crossing at alley 210 Ngoc Hoi, the vehicle suddenly collided with a SE19 train moving through the area.

The strong collision caused the motorbike driver and the vehicle to be thrown about 20m away. The victim died on the spot.

Through checking personal papers, functional agencies identified the victim as Mr. D. H. Y (born 1974, residing in Hanoi).

Immediately after receiving the news, Road Traffic Police Team No. 14 (Hanoi Police Department of Traffic Police) sent officers and soldiers to the scene, coordinated with Hoang Liet Ward Police to organize an examination and resolve the incident.

Currently, the cause of the accident is being further investigated and clarified by functional agencies.
