Ma Lau A is a highland village that rests on the mountain, more than 20km from the center of Lung Cu commune. The place where the Mong people have been attached to for generations has now become a place of mourning after the historic flood from storm No. 10 (Bualoi).
On the night of September 29, heavy rain continued for many hours, mud from the mountain suddenly collapsed, 6 houses were buried. The peaceful village has turned into a pile of ruins, rocks, and overgrown with trees overnight.
Quietly in the cultural house, Mr. Giang Mi Dinh (born in 1995) was still shocked. He said that the mud from the mountain overflowed and swept away the small house, the whole family could only hug each other and escape.
He clearly remembers the moment Mrs. Hau Chi Dinh shouted loudly "come home" in the early morning. That shout awakened the whole village, 5 households managed to run away, but Mrs. Dinh, her husband and 2 young children were swept away and went missing by the flood.
"Ms. Dinh's cry saved many people in the village. Without her, many families would not have been able to escape. It is a pity that she and her relatives were buried, Mr. Dinh choked up.

Immediately after the incident, the authorities arrived urgently, but the rock and soil were too thick and the terrain was harsh, making rescue extremely difficult.
Lung Cu Border Guard Station mobilized 50 officers, soldiers and service dogs to dig through every meter of mud. The sound of the excavator echoed in the cold rain, all efforts were made to search for the victim.
After many hours, they only found a bunch of grass with mud, believed to be because Mrs. Hau Chi Dinh cut it unfinished when she discovered the flood, causing people to choke up.
By evening, Ma Lau mountain continued to slide, mud and soil continuously overflowed, rescue work became more difficult, and the search for missing people became more difficult.
On October 2, the rescue team found the first body, which was Ms. Hau Chi Dinh - a woman who shouted for help to many households before being buried by rocks and soil.
Hearing the bad news, the son of Vang Mi Vu (born in 2005, Mrs. Dinh's son) quickly took a bus back from Hai Phong, where he and his wife were working for hire.
When he returned home, there was only mud and rocks left, he collapsed on the old foundation, burst into tears when his parents and two young children were swept away by the flood, the house was left with only rocks and soil.

He choked up as he said, the couple worked far away, leaving their children to their parents to take care of, and they thought the flash flood would take them all away.
The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Tuyen Quang province directly presented support and encouraged the family to overcome the incident.
The Standing Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ha Trung Kien province requested the commune government to urgently continue searching for the victims, while stabilizing the lives of people in landslide areas soon.
Mr. Cu Cha Phu - Head of Ma Lau A village said that in his 45 years living here, he has never witnessed such a severe flood that caused such great damage.
Secretary of the Lung Cu Commune Party Committee Duong Ngoc Duc commented that the locality had never experienced such a brutal flood. Despite the authorities' efforts, heavy rain continued to hinder the search.
According to Mr. Duc, overcoming the consequences will take a long time, requiring the cooperation of all levels, sectors and communities so that people can soon overcome the pain and stabilize their lives.
